The following list of scholarships for students in British postgraduate programmes is not exhaustive, but represents scholarships, possible for the Russians and covering a significant part of the cost of tuition and living while studying. Scholarships are listed in alphabetical order.

A British Library Scholarship

A British Library Scholarship - a joint scholarship of the University of Sheffield (The University of Sheffield) and the British library (The British Library).

Who accepts applications	the University of Sheffield
Program	level – PhD; type research, a full day; the theme of the project from the sphere of interest of the British library.
Duration of the scholarship	3 years; the decision to extend annually on the results.
Requirements	honors degree/ honors degree or foreign equivalent in relevant subject area; registration for the PhD program, participating in one of these research projects; foreign students are required to confirm the possibility of the payment of the remaining cost of the program.
The amount	part of the cost of teaching scheme ORSAS; + £13,650 (on accommodation); + £500 (additional grant to study research strategy).

Scholarships Boehringer Ingeheim Fonds

Boehringer Ingelheim Fonds - designed to students around the world to support their work on research projects in basic medicine on the basis of the research organizations of Europe.

Who accepts applications	Boehringer Ingelheim Fonds
Program	the PhD; type &n dash; исследовательская, полный день; subject area – biomedical, with the exception of biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, therapeutics, and botany and prokaryotes, except where those studies are of fundamental importance to biology
Duration	2 years; a possible extension for another 12 months
Requirements	age not older than 27 years; diploma of higher education, academic degree, successful passing of final examinations, academic achievements; registration for PhD program in universities in Europe; the compliance of the laboratories in which experiments will be run, the goals of the project, the availability of first-class equipment, their reputation; work on a pilot project investigating the underlying biological phenomenon of human life; the quality of the research project; at the date of the deadline, the candidate has to work on the project not more than 6 months. the new scientific knowledge, open.
The amount	1850 euros per month for (Velikobritanii) – accommodation; +150 Euro per month to cover study-related expenses insurance.

Erasmus Mundus Scholarships

Erasmus Mundus is an educational initiative of the European Union dedicated to the cultural and scientific exchange between Europe and the rest of the world. Offers master's and PhD program, jointly developed by European and international Universities, consortia of universities. Usually, the student lives and studies for a year in the member countries of the chosen program. Although the UK is not in the EU, this program involved many British Universities.

Who accepts applications	The Board of the Consortium of universities offering a specific program
Program	PhD level (13 programmes – see official list); type research, professionally-oriented, full day; subject area – various (see list).
Duration	depending on the program selected, an average of 4 years.
Requirements	higher education; an international language certificate proving a good knowledge of the language in which they are teaching; motivation letter-essay; 2-3 recommendations; each program establishes its own criteria and selection process - see details on the websites of the programs in the official lists.
The amount	depending on Universities and countries participating in a particular program.
What is covered	the cost of training – fully; accommodation costs – full; the costs of training materials; the cost of the move fully; PhD programs are paid for the costs associated with research – for example, work in the lab.
Additional information	the number of Ph. D. programs is expected to grow to 40 by 2013; a scholarship to study on one academic level is given only 1 time; forms at programs. information on programmes with British universities is also published on the websites of these Universities;

Scholarship Graduate Teaching Assistant

Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) scholarship Aston Business School the opportunity to engage in teaching and gaining valuable skills and practice in the learning process.

Who accepts applications	Aston Business School (ABS)
Program	the PhD; type – professionally-oriented, full day; a subject area from the taught ABS.
Duration	3 years; the decision to extend annually on the results.
Requirements	depending on the selected program; registration for the PhD programme, Aston Business School; teaching load is 6 hours per week.
The amount	£20,000 a year.
What is covered	accommodation costs – full; the tuition in full (£9,720 per year); the additional costs of study – in part.

James Watt Scholarships

James Watt Scholarship - scholarship Scottish University. Heriot and watt, awarded to foreigners in addition to the scheme ORSAS.

Who accepts applications	University. Heriot and watt.
Program	level – PhD; type research, a full day; subject area – production, science of nature, mathematics and computer science, management, linguistics, human environment.
Duration	3 years; the decision to extend annually on the results.
Requirements	depending on the selected program; registration for the PhD programme of the University; academic and professional achievements.
The amount	the full cost of the program; + from £10,000 to £13,000 a year (for accommodation).
What is covered	the cost of training – fully; the cost of accommodation.

The scholarship L'oreal – UNESCO

The scholarship L'oreal – UNESCO - contribution to the development of scientific career of young Russian female scientists.

Who gives	company L'oreal; UNESCO; with the support of the RAS
Program	the postdoctoral level; the PhD; research; subject area – physics, chemistry, medicine and biology;
Duration of the scholarship	1-3 years may be renewed annually by repetitive applications; re-applications are considered on a common basis
Requirements	female; not older than 35 years; citizenship of the Russian Federation; the presence of the degree of candidate of Sciences; the work of the Russian research institutes or Universities
The amount	350 000 RUB.
What is covered	· the cost of research (mainly cost of work in foreign laboratories)

Scholarships the School of law of the University of Sheffield

School of Law Postgraduate Research Studentships - scholarship program of the University of Sheffield, including teaching rate for graduate students.

Who accepts applications	the University of Sheffield.
Program	level – PhD; type research, a full day; subject areas included in the scope of activities of the Law school of Sheffield.
Duration of the scholarship	3 years; the decision to extend annually on the results.
Requirements	diploma with excellent/good ratings or foreign equivalent in relevant subject area; registration for PhD program to Law school; foreign students are required to confirm the possibility of the payment of the remaining cost of the program.
The amount	part of the cost of teaching scheme ORSAS; + £8,000 (accommodation); + £500 (additional grant to study research strategy); + around £10,000 per year (for teaching work - up to 180 hours, hourly).
What is covered	living expenses – in part; the tuition part; the additional costs of study – in part.
Additional information	access to specialized libraries and research base of the University; students who plan to teach, offer training modules for the development of the necessary skills. foreigners with special work permits are required.

Scholarship of the Soros Fund and Institute "the open Society"

The Global Supplementary Grant Program (GSGP) - doctoral scholarship of the Institute "open society" of Soros Foundation in the Humanities and social Sciences.

Who accepts applications	The "open society Institute" (The Open Society Institute); The Soros Foundation (Soros Foundation).
Program	level – PhD; full day; subject area – Humanities and social Sciences; only accredited universities in Europe.
Duration of the scholarship	1 - 3 years; may be renewed annually by repetitive applications; re-applications are considered on a common basis.
Requirements	citizenship of the Russian Federation registration at the accredited PhD – program; good knowledge of the language that you are learning; the presence of other confirmed sources of funding (already received scholarships).
The amount	$ 2000-7000.
What is covered	the cost of tuition/living/travel – in part; a trip to the Conference GSGP.
Additional information	participation in the Annual GSGP spring conference; basis for award: academic merit; long-term goals of the candidate, the difficult financial situation;

Grants from Google and the Institute Anita Borg

The Google Anita Borg Memorial Scholarship: Europe, the Middle East and Africa – international scholarship, awarded jointly by Google and the Institute Anita Borg (The Anita Borg Institute for Women and Technology).

Who accepts applications	Google.
Program	level – PhD; studies in universities of Europe and the world; subject area – computer science, computer engineering, computer science or related.
Requirements	female registration for the selected program; diploma with honors; leadership qualities and experience; 2 letters of recommendation from authorized persons confirming serious interest of the candidate to the it sector.
The amount	Of € 7,000 or equivalent in other currency.

Scholarships POWIS

The Prince of Wales Innovation Scholarships (POWIS) is a scholarship program at the University of Wales in 2009-2012. For the entire period should be awarded 100 scholarships. The project aims to innovative breakthroughs in various fields of knowledge, and integrating research and practice into mutually beneficial for all parties involved basis.

Who accepts applications	Cardiff University.
Program	the PhD; type research, a full day; subject area – all are available at the moment POWIS scholarships on the scholarship website
Duration of the scholarship	3 years; the decision to extend annually on the results.
Requirements	excellent academic results; extensive experience in the subject area – in some cases, higher professional services can replace the presence of academic degree; fluency in English; strong time management skills, projects, presentations of their work.
The amount	£100,000.
What is covered	the cost of training – fully; accommodation costs – full; reasonable travel between the UK and the country of residence of the student; basic research costs.
Additional information	last applications for participation are accepted in 2011; work in a large company of Wales throughout the period of study; special permission to work in the UK is not required;

White Rose Scholarship

White Rose Scholarships – joint scholarship program of 3 universities of the White Rose. Its main feature is the number of significant additional benefits acquired by the student together with the financing.

Who accepts applications	The universities of the White Rose: Leeds, Sheffield and York.
Program	level – PhD; type research; involved in the joint project of these universities.
Duration of the scholarship	3 years; the decision to extend annually on the results.
Requirements	honours degree/ honours degree 2:1 or foreign equivalent in relevant subject area; registration for the PhD program, participating in one of the active research projects; foreign students are required to confirm the availability of funds for the payment of the remaining cost of the program.
The amount	part of the cost of teaching scheme ORSAS; + £13,650 (on accommodation); + £900 (advanced research grant).
What is covered	accommodation costs – full; the tuition part; the additional costs of study – in part.
Additional information	2 academic supervisor from one's own and the partner University; access to educational and research base of the University-partner; the expenditure of additional grant regulates scientific supervisor.

Wolfson Microelectronics Scholarship

Wolfson Microelectronics Scholarship – scholarship of the University of Edinburgh, awarded to students of PhD programs in the field of computer science and engineering.

Who accepts applications	The University of Edinburgh.
Program	level Master (MPhil) level – PhD; type research, a full day; subject area – computer science, engineering.
Duration of the scholarship	3 years; the decision to extend annually on the results.
Requirements	academic merit; check on the relevant PhD programme of the University of Edinburgh.
The amount	£15,000 a year.
What is covered	the cost of training – fully.

Scholarship of the President of the Russian Federation

Scholarship of the President of the Russian Federation for graduate students gives you an opportunity to travel abroad on a one-year internship or training.

Who accepts applications	the postgraduate departments of Universities
Program	level – post-graduate (PhD); research (basic and applied); subject area – any, emphasis on innovation and high technology
Duration of the scholarship	1 academic year
Requirements	citizenship of the Russian Federation; graduates of Russian Universities preferably 2 year of study; scientific merit and successful research work, discoveries, articles, publications in leading peer-reviewed journals, at least 2 of the invention; academic achievements are confirmed by diplomas and other documents; victory in all-Russian and international Olympiads, creative contests and festivals; recommendations of the Department

Scholarships, partly covering the costs of research

Special research grants given to Scientists community in the UK. However, most of their volume is small, and they are intended to address a narrow and well-defined tasks: data collection, work in laboratories, purchase or rental of additional equipment, payment of training materials, travel, publications, participation in conferences.

Emergency grants funds for foreigners, faced with an insurmountable and unforeseen financial difficulties can be a necessary support for completion of the program.
