The NatWest Bank has published the seventh study of the feasibility of the 25 largest University towns in the UK. The analysis was conducted according to the following principle: the average local record weekly student spending was divided by average local weekly amount of the income of working students. Next cities ranked depending on the results obtained.
The authors of the rating took into account the maximum living expenses faced by students:
This includes expenditures on alcohol and cigarettes.
According to the study the most cost-effective student city is London, and the last row of the table for the second year in a row won the York.
Universities Of London
London students earn an average of 5024 pounds a year (£167 per week) the average pay hours of work per 10 pounds. The students of Dundee, who took second place in the study to work more, but get a total of 6.52 pounds per hour.
The study also noted that students are spending less money on leisure time, preferring savings to the parties.
In addition, more than three quarters (76%) of students try to increase their chances of employment after graduation. To do this while studying, they arranged for internships, working instead to travel, and, in General, are working harder. They seek not only to reconcile work and study, but to receive this diploma with honors (degrees of difference and degrees of the English universities here).
In connection with the crisis, every fifth local student began to choose the University for its academic indicators of success, and based on the cost of living, proximity to home and the possibility of part-time work.
