University of Kent nominated for the award "University of the year".

The magazine annually awards THE award to the University for the exceptional results shown in the previous academic year. All the Universities of the United Kingdom can participate in this event. The prize is awarded for "bold, innovative initiatives that highlight the high reputation of the University"

For outstanding support awarded to the University that "helps its students to gain maximum benefit from learning."

This year for the University of Kent is special for two reasons. In addition, the University received two nominations, he noted in 2015 the Golden jubilee. The University of Kent was established on 4 January 1965, and in October opened the doors to its first students. The application of advanced techniques in research and educational activities helped the University earn and maintain a high reputation.

Other achievements of the University:

  • entered the top twenty standings in the national League;
  • took third place in the ranking of student satisfaction in the National student survey (National Student Survey);
  • is among the top 20% of Universities are involved in research activities;
  • funding for research has increased in percentage more than in other universities of the country;
  • strengthening of international prestige and influence.

The University Vice-Chancellor Professor Julia Goodfellow said: "This is great news for all of us. I am particularly pleased that we got a nomination this year when the University celebrates its 50th anniversary. We hope that our achievements in science and education will open new opportunities for future students and University staff.

The winners will be announced on November 26.
