The office of standards in education (Ofsted) recognised the excellent conducted by the University of York in the preparation of teachers of secondary schools. University chair of pedagogy, providing training of teachers in partnership with 50 schools received the highest inspection rating. In addition to the overall highest rating program of the Department of "Primary education teachers" was rated "very good" for eight of the nine evaluation categories. Every year at York University more than 100 students graduate from post-graduate certification program in teaching English language, history, mathematics, modern foreign languages and natural Sciences.
