In the ranking of the best universities in the world QS University of Sussex took first place in the research activity in Development Studies. The championship in this ranking reflects the high academic reputation, the quality and relevance of international research carried out at Sussex University, including its structural divisions: the School of global studies, Research Department for science policy, Center for international education and Institute for research development (Institute of Development Studies).

The ranking of the best universities in the world QS is drawn up in 2004 and evaluates more than 3,000 universities on 36 criteria, including development activities, to prospective students can find and compare leading universities of the world, given the desired specialization.
