Among the winners are the heads of universities and prominent scientists. The Queen has awarded the head of the University of Cambridge, chief scientific Advisor to the government and the outstanding scientist of our day, Mrs. Alison Richard. This fall marks the 7 years, as Ms. Richard holds the post of Vice-Chancellor (rector) of the University of Cambridge. John Beddington, chief scientific adviser to the government, was knighted, and Brian Cox, Professor of particle physics at Manchester University and presenter of BBC, received the Order of the British Empire.
