According to Mark Frary from Timesonline the Open Library (and online library of the Open University) website receives about 2.5 million hits every year, mainly from the 30 to 40 per cent of the students who need regular access to the library’s services.

The Open Library also hosts Open Research Online (ORO), a free, publicly accessible repository of the university’s peer-reviewed research.
