The study UCLan: what is your motivation to obtain an MBA

Obtaining a postgraduate MBA – master of business administration allows students to prepare for leadership roles in business and greatly increase the chances of employment in the chosen career direction.

Employers value an MBA not only for the high level of knowledge of the applicant, but that to obtain it requires hard work, self-organization and determination in achieving goals. Such qualities advantageous to allocate a contender for the vacancy, among other candidates.

University of Central Lancashire (UCLAN) conducted its own study examining what factors motivate people to enroll in MBA and spend time and money on a degree. For this purpose the respondents were students enrolled in a training program part time MBA of the University of UCLAN.

The study found the following main incentives:

1. Setting worthy goals

Many respondents reported that their degree MBA were associated with the production of ambitious, requiring great perseverance and ambition to achieve it. This was the opinion of those who the last few years has not been studied in any educational institution.

2. A springboard to the next career level

Other frequently mentioned driver degree was the desire for professional growth, and an MBA is seen as a catalyst.

3. "My boss has already received a degree"

The desire to grow along with the company's management or colleagues was another motivating factor.

4. An MBA is the key to many doors

Almost all students of the MBA program believe that deep theoretical training in the field of business will allow them to better understand modern trends in business life, thereby increasing its demand in the labour market.
