According to The Guardian during the 2007-2008 academic year, over 270,000 students returned to University to continue their education. Demand for a master's degree grew by 27% and postgraduate by 9%. Recent studies also show that applicants with a master's degree at least quite successfully find their place in the labour market. Thus, according to the report "Postgraduate education in the UK", prepared by the British library and the Institute of policy in higher education (Hepi), after three and a half years after graduation, find a job 94% of graduates of master's degree programs and graduate only 78% of bachelors.
