A report published this week provides the basis for insights from University of Hertfordshire academics into how Higher Education (HE) could look in twenty-five years time. Dr Eddie Blass, Dr Anne Jasman at the University’s School of Education and Dr Steve Shelley at the Business School have written a report entitled: The Future of Higher Education Provision in the UK: Workforce Implications, which details the findings of a preliminary literature review which informs five scenarios which higher education could face. The review, which was commissioned by The Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) as part of the Higher Education Workforce Framework 2010, reports on how factors such as economics, demographics, digitalisation, democratisation and globalisation will all impact on the HE sector.
