Universities are increasingly turning to foreign students to plug a multi-million hole in the higher education budget, The Daily Telegraph has found. As many as a third of institutions – including some of the country’s best – will recruit more candidates from outside Britain and the EU this year, research suggests. In the last decade alone, the proportion of overseas students recruited to British universities has doubled. Half of all students on taught postgraduate courses are now foreign. Read more here
