More and more students of Humanities and art faculties are committed to continue studies in magistracy. According to a study conducted by the British Association of services of employment of graduates of universities (HESCU), last year in the UK, the percentage of unemployed among the graduates of master degree in arts, social Sciences and Humanities accounted for 6.5%, whereas among the bachelors of the same specialties, it was equal to 10.7%.
At the graduate level among Humanities disciplines with the lowest unemployment rates in English, history, linguistics, foreign languages, journalism, music and drama. Worse than employed graduates who received a master's degree in archaeology, design, fine arts and philosophy. But they get jobs faster than their colleagues who have completed their education at the undergraduate level.
Some types of jobs require education below the graduate level. These include teaching in universities, conducting research, library and archiving, curating in art galleries and museums, translation and preservation of cultural heritage. The presence of a master's degree is becoming the norm among journalists, designers and other artistic professions. Many priests finish master's degree in theology.
The presence of a master degree does not mean automatic employment. When choosing a graduate experts in career development recommend to acquire the skills focused on a future career. The closer the workshop will specialize to the proposed work, the less time you will need to find it. During their studies students have to obtain knowledge, skills and experience that they will need for future work place.
