First University in the UK

Higher education in the UK includes programs, which aim to award bachelor's degrees related to the degrees of the first level (First or Undergraduate Degree), or postgraduate degrees (Postgraduate Degrees): master (Master Degree), MBA or doctor (Doctoral or PhD Degree).

If the Russian undergraduate was officially introduced only in 1993, and a two-tier system of higher education – bachelor degree + master's degree in 2002, then British Universities such system exists for centuries. Unlike Russia, the training period for most British programmes bachelor programme – 3 years (in Scotland – 4 years).

Undergraduate training provides students with the competencies necessary for the successful development of his career and gives the opportunity to continue learning in subsequent stages of higher education: master's degree or postgraduate study (PhD).

Technically, a diploma issued by Russian institutions is also considered equivalent to bachelor's degree of a British University (despite the fact that the duration and level of training it can be likened in some cases to master's diploma). Therefore with a diploma of bachelor or specialist issued by the Russian University can apply for master's programmes at British universities.
