Higher Education Foundation Programme at the University of Warwick is a pre-university course that helps to prepare international students for study in the UK and help them decide on future study.
The course is full-time from when you register in September to the completion of your examinations, usually in the final week of May. The teaching will take place for 25 hours per week and students will need to allow approximately 10 hours per week for private study, preparing for tests and writing assignments.
The course provides an introduction to the study of Law itself and the techniques necessary for the study of Law at degree level. The course also includes an element of Social Studies, enabling students to consider Law in its wider social context. The third part of the course concerns essential language and study skills. Students attend weekly lectures at the University of Warwick's School of Law.
After successful completion of this course, students can apply for the following bachelor degrees: Law and Legal studies, Social Science
The campus occupies 290 hectares on three adjacent sites, which are characterised by pleasant lakes and luscious woods, magnificent flowers and charming landscaped gardens.
The University of Warwick is within 3 miles away from the centre of Coventry, one of the major cities in the UK. Each year Coventry hosts the Godiva Festival, known as the UK’s biggest and best free family music festival. You can also enjoy award-winning city attractions such as the Herbert Art Gallery and Museum and the Coventry Transport Museum.
The 18th century town of Royal Leamington Spa is also within easy reach of campus: it’s home to lots of Warwick students. Plus, Birmingham, the UK’s official second city, is a mere 20 minutes away from Coventry train station. Or the bright lights of London are just an hour’s train journey away.
We’re also close to historic centres like Kenilworth, Warwick and Stratford-upon-Avon, Shakespeare’s birthplace. London is within 2 hours by train.
